dc.description.abstract The study at hand aims at exploring licence EFL teachers and students’ perceptions towards the effectiveness of Cake-Learn English for Free application, as a supporting instructional aid, in enhancing EFL learners’ speaking ability. It accordingly hypothesises that if EFL teachers and learners use Cake application to learn English speaking, they will perceive it as an efficient learning tool. To test the given hypothesis, in accordance with the participants’ views, an interview was conducted with a sample of six oral expression teachers at the department of English at Mohammed Seddik Ben Yahia University, together with a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 130 EFL licence students at the same department and university. The analysis of the results gathered allowed for deducing that teachers and students have positive perceptions on the use and the efficiency of Cake application in improving the speaking proficiency of EFL learners. The subjects have shown such positive attitudes because they were convinced in utility of the suggested application in developing the different speaking sub-skills as well as the practical use of the language. Hence, the application was highly advocated and recommended for integration in the academic teaching of English for the purpose of ameliorating the speaking and communicative skills of the language. Furthermore, the conclusions drawn by this study permit for insisting on modernizing and updating the teaching of foreign languages via the inclusion of Mobile Assisted Language Learning system and the educational applications available. fr_FR
