dc.description.abstract This study aimed at engaging teachers’ and students’ evaluation of the effectiveness of icebreakers in improving learners’ speaking skill. To achieve this aim, two research tools have been self-designed “a teacher interview and students’ questionnaire” . The questionnaire was administered and distributed to fifty-five second-year license university students at the department of Englishin Mohamed Seddik Ben Yahia University . Whereas, the interview was conducted with four teachers of the oral expression module at the same department . The result stated that both teachers and students appreciate the use of icebreakers. Hence, teachers consider that it is necessary to create a fun and stimulating atmosphere by using different icebreakers activities. Students also confirmed that they learn better and they really ameliorate their speaking skills through the use of Icebreakers in their speaking classes. By applying icebreaker activities, a good interaction between students and teachers is established in the classroom. fr_FR
