Résumé:
This study seeks to investigate the difficulties encountered by primary school pupils in learning English in private schols. It also aims at suggesting some solutions to overcome these problems and facilitate the process of learning English. This study is built on one main hypothesis. It is hypothesized that Algerian primary schools pupils of English language in private schools’ trouble with the four skills of language (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) since they are familiar with learning French language as a second language in public primary schools. To collect data for this study, three research instruments were used. On the one hand, a classroom observation was conducted in two different private schools of teaching foreign languages in Jijel. On the other hand, an interview was conducted with four teachers of English from the two pre-mentioned schools. In addition to a short test that was a complementary instrument.
