Examining the Impact of Duolingo English- Arabic on Improving English Beginner Learners’ Grammar Learning

Abstract

Despite the crucial role traditional methods and techniques play in language learning, they are still inadequate in practicing language forms. Consequently, the learners might need modern software to practice the grammar rules more engagingly. The study at hand aims to examine the potential impact of using Duolingo, English-Arabic, on enhancing the grammar learning of beginner learners at the Royal Private School- in Jijel. It was hypothesized that if learners used Duolingo, they could improve their grammar level in the present simple, write correct sentences, and properly use the indefinite articles (a/an). A pre-experimental design followed by a classroom observation was used to examine this research concern. The study included a single group of 10 students and was carried out over six weeks. Students received an instructional intervention through using Duolingo in six sessions, each focusing on passing one level. .
