"Investigating Teachers’ and Students’ Attitudes Towards Teachers’ Feedback in Enhancing Students’ Speaking Skill The Case of Third Year Students at Mohammed Seddik Benyahia Jijel University"

Abstract

This descriptive study aims at investigating teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards teachers’ feedback in enhancing students’ speaking skill. To reach the aim of this study, a mixed- method approach combining both quantitative and qualitative data was used. The students’ questionnaire was handed to 100 third-year students, which aims at investigating students’ attitudes towards teachers’ feedback in enhancing their speaking skill. The teachers’ interview was conducted with 5 Oral Expression teachers, which aims at knowing about their attitudes towards the role of feedback in enhancing their students speaking skill. The results obtained revealed that both teachers and students hold positive perceptions regarding the role of feedback in enhancing students’ speaking skill. The current study concludes with recommendations for developing feedback practices for the purpose to support students boosting their speaking skill.
