Résumé:
The present study aimed to investigate the implementation of collaborative learning strategies that
boost Second Year Licence students’ behavioural engagement in oral participation at the
department of English at the University of Jijel. The aims of the study were twofold: to determine
whether oral expression teachers implement strategies of collaborative learning in oral expression
classes, and if so, to identify which ones are mostly used. It also aimed to investigate the
correspondences between the use of these strategies and learners’ behavioural engagement. It was,
therefore, hypothesized that strong correspondences might be established between the extent of
incorporating these strategies and students’ engagement
