Résumé:
Foreign language learning strategies are specific actions, behaviors and techniques students
use, often consciously, to improve their progress in apprehending, internalizing, and using
the language. When taught effectively, learning strategies are proved to increase learners’
level of language proficiency. It is important for teachers to believe in the effectiveness of
these factors in order to integrate them effectively. The present study aims at investigating
the perceptions and attitudes of EFL teachers towards the integration of language learning
strategies. It is hypothesized that language learning strategies would be integrated and
taught effectively if teachers had positive attitudes towards these strategies. The hypothesis
was examined through a questionnaire administered to teachers at the department of
English, Jijel University. The results revealed that teachers are aware of the significant role
language learning strategies play and the benefits of their integration. In addition, teachers
show their readiness to train their learners and to receive any training on how to integrate
and teach language learning strategies. Therefore the hypothesis was confirmed in that
teachers need to develop positive attitudes towards language learning strategies so as to
integrate them effectively
