Résumé:
The present study is aimed mainly at investigating the attitudes of both EFL learners and
teachers towards the use of dictionary in enhancing vocabulary learning at Bouhrine Cherif
secondary school. To achieve that aim, two research tools were used: students’ questionnaire
and teachers’ interview; students’ questionnaire aimed at finding the students’ point of view
and perceptions towards their use of dictionary in their vocabulary achievement. Whereas,
teachers’ interview aimed at investigating whether the teachers are using dictionary as a
pedagogical tool inside the classroom and if they encourage their students to check it
frequently in order to enhance their vocabulary. The result obtained confirmed the hypothesis
that if both teachers and learners use the dictionary while teaching and learning processes,
their vocabulary will be enhanced, and helps to build up a set of vocabulary knowledge.
